Things To Do

-
HIKE
There are beautiful hikes all over the Crested Butte area. Some you can walk to (or take the lift) and some require a drive. See below for a list of some of our favorites and a link to the full area trail list!
Hike to the Peak: Buy a day pass at the ticket office and take the Silver Queen lift up. The peak is up from there!
The Sunflower Hike: Technically named the 401, this one requires a drive.
Judd Falls: An easy hike that ends by seeing a pretty waterfall
-
BIKE
Similar to the hikes, there are several biking trails all around Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte. See below for some of our favorites and a link to the full area trail list!
The 401: The most difficult in the area, but well worth it!
The Lupin Trail
Biking from the mountain to town (if you get an electric bike, you can ride back up!)
Rentals:
-
FLY FISH
There are several places to fly fish in and around Crested Butte. We suggest booking a trip with a guide for the best experience.
-
WHITE WATER RAFTING
Raft down the Taylor River! These excursions leave from Almont, about 20 minutes outside of Crested Butte.
-
PADDLE BOARD
Rent a paddle board and float the river that runs through town, or if you have a car pack them up and take them to Emerald Lake or Lake Irwin!
-
EXPLORE
ATV
Rent ATVs to explore the mountains surrounding Crested Butte! Our favorite: pack a picnic and stop at a beautiful place to enjoy your food and beverage. Don’t forget a bandana to cover your face for the ride - it gets dusty!
JEEP
Rent a Jeep to explore the valley for the day!
